Hi Josh!
Given the humidity in Darwin, are you seeing much diversity in the plants and animals in comparison to the other areas you have visited, thus far?

Jewell,
My apologies for not writing back sooner!
The biodiversity in Darwin is pretty amazing. There are rainforests up there that yield a plethora of plant life that the Aboriginal population has been benefiting from for thousands of years! Just a quick walk with an elder through the forest is like a walk through a pantry and crisper! The exact names escape me right now, but what was amazing to me, was the some of the plants looked exactly the same to me, but would yield great differences in their effect. For example, while one plant might be excellent for stopping diarrhea, the next plant is excellent for poisoning an animal you would later eat. So you see, there aren't warning labels in the outback or in the rainforest, just what you might have learned from your Grandfather!
Thanks!
Josh
